Long shot but looking for a dead or faulty iMac 27" Late 2012/2013 that I can take the display from to fix one I have here with a cracked display.

Let me know if you've got one you want to get rid of. :)
As far as I can tell the display for either the late 2012 or late 2013 will fit my late 2013 iMac.

Also not much help, but I had a 27" iMac with a cracked screen for months (cracked when in transit when I bought it 2nd hand, long story), ended up just selling it without the screen. PITA to clear all (most) of the glass though.

You probably already know, but you can buy new (they say) glass for various iMac's. Assuming it's the glass that is cracked, and not the LCD panel. Glass goes for about $200 last I checked.

Unfortunately on iMac with super slim bezels this is not an option because Apple in their infinite wisdom decided to bond the glass & LCD together.

Ooh I see, I thought the glass was still attached with magnets, that sucks :| I thought the magnets idea was great. I never had any issues. And was super easy to do HDD upgrades.

These are fixed with adhesive tape.

Yea they changed to the slim iMacs in late 2012 and the lcd display and glass are stuck together so even though it’s just the glass that’s cracked the whole thing needs to be replaced and they aren’t cheap.
People trying to sell the display only for about the same price as the whole iMac!
