Thought I'd repost this here, as my fellow Geekzoners may have an increased interest in this item.

We're a selling limited edition (only 500 were made) block of Whittakers dark chocolate, which was used as template for their new website (hence the name website block). For more information, please see http://www.whittakers.co.nz. This item is being sold via this TradeMe auction.

While this is an awesomely limited edition block of Whittakers chocolate which we'd love to keep for ourselves, we have been inspired to sell it by our youngest daughter's recent actions. As a school holiday pursuit, she has set up a stall outside our house initially selling chestnuts, and today selling apples, with 1/2 the money she made being donated to Canteen (http://www.canteen.org.nz/). This was totally her idea, and was not prompted by us at all. She even chose the charity she wanted to donate to.

We were initially only going to match her dollar for dollar, but when Whittakers kindly gave us this bar of chocolate, we thought we may be able to do a bit better by offering it up for sale here.

As a result, most of the proceeds* from the sale of this item will be going to Canteen, so please dig deep, knowing that not only will you get an incredibly yummy (and highly sought after) bar of Whittakers chocolate, but you will also be helping out a very worthy cause.

*I say "most of the proceeds", as due to unexpected interest, we may have to deduct the TradeMe success fee from the winning bid. But apart from that, we'll be donating the rest to CanTeen

I won this one yesterday, so was really surprised that it arrived today. I'm still waiting on a Kung Fu Panda DVD I won from TradeMe a few weeks back.

In fact, yesterday was quite a profitable day for me; I also won a double-pass to next weeks Disturbed concert. I'm not a big fan of them, but Trivium are also playing, and those boys I DO like. :-)

Yeah, its not a concert I'd have paid money to go and see (despite being a Trivium fan), but I was stoked to win tickets nevertheless.

Thanks! The auction has already exceeded expectations. We figured we'd make about $20 off it, so to get over 10x that in a couple of hours has blown us away! Its great to see the generous Kiwi spirit is still very much alive and well!

Congrats! If you decide to unwrap it, I'd love to see a photo. I'll only get to see the outside of mine, now that its going to a charitable home (the auctions currently sitting at $260!!).  :-)
