I've been play WoW this afternoon on the US Server Bronzebeard and since about 4:25pm I've been unable to stay connected.  Latency jumps to 2000+ after logging in. I've reset my modem 3 times now to no avail.  If you think your SpeedTest was bad look at mine.  Connecting from Dunedin on the ZeroShock plan.......

I'm just as bad as you - zero shock also (full speed)

BTW - that speed isn't bad kiwiperls.  That's 135.75KB/s you realise?  Very respectable IMHO - I would settle for that Cry

seroiusly, orcon has a big problem.
they shall really inform their customers 'not enough international bandwidth during peak times'.

I get good speeds after 1 am.
My mate just switched to x-net, speed is alot better now. -used to have unstable connections with orcon and download speed was awaful, under 200 kb/s.

Yes I realise it is a lot better than what you guys are all getting.  But it still makes playing WoW unplayable.  It lags to the point where the latency bar does not catch up and give us the proper latecny reading...and then we just disconnect.

I just sent an email to Xnet to see how I go about switching to them - etc etc.  They do seem to get the best feedback so far in this thread and on the forum.  But I am wondering, if we all move to Xnet - won't they then just get congestion?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you got to be kidding me!!!!

Now my International speeds are going SLOW as too Cry
It has been fine since there "bandwidth upgrade" but now it is back!

Now I wish I have moved to Slingshot regardless :(

Well this will only make up my mind even more to switch next week.

Come on Orcon it surely can't take months to fix a speed issue!

Orcon has updated there Status page to say this:

We are currently experiencing degradation of the Orcon network. This is effecting all current users as of 7:00pm 28/06/2008

We Currently have our Technicians working on the issue and expect it to be resolved shortly

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Now it is "all current users" not just some, so lets hope they get it fixed, some time in my life time would be great.

As of 1:23am, I am getting crappy internet speeds; ranging from 7KBs to 20KBs - from a large number of major websites.

it's pretty sad that i gotta get up early in the morning just to update/download some computer files. they ain't big files, just a few hundred MBs.

am still waiting to transfer to a new isp.
sadly for orcon users, if you are staying you'd probably get decent international bandwidth when good number of people (myself) switch to a different isp LOL that gets you more bandwidth ay :P
