philnz847: Thanks all for your help. I guess I will just have to continue to pay the high XT cost and assume 2d just dosn't care.

You've had employees from both 2degrees and Vodafone who are both in positions to fix your issue comment on this thread and request information. If you can't provide them with the correct information they need to look into your issue there isn't a lot they can do to help you.

Who works for Vodafone. Looking at the comments above you've sent him 2degrees details. He'll only be able to help you with the issues that were occuring receiving message on Vodafone.

Many people have tried to help but if you spoke to 2Degrees like you have spoken to the users on Geekzone I will be surprised if anyone wants to help any further

John

Wow. This is some kind of special.

philnz847: Here is a Template for you to fill out. Try, REALLY try to fill out all the hard bits. They're the bits in square brackets.

--

Dear JohnR,

Thank you for looking at my problem. The VODAFONE Mobile number that keeps receiving multiple texts is [PUT *VODAFONE* NUMBER HERE].

My VODAFONE Mobile has received multiple SMS's from [NUMBER SENDING MESSAGES INCLUDING COUNTRY CODE] on these times and dates:

1) [HH:MM DD/MM/YY]
2) [HH:MM DD/MM/YY]
3) [HH:MM DD/MM/YY]

I promise the number I have written about is a Vodafone Mobile number and NOT a 2Degrees Number [] <- Put Tick in Box.

--

I hope this helps.

Thank you Muppet.

Sadly the number is a 2degrees number. As I am not technically savy (63yrs old) I thought that as 2d uses the vodafone network any issue of this nature would be due to vodafone equipment. Sun Cellular have stated that the issue is at NZ end of things . All the details you mentioned were sent by pm to John. It is not his problem as it seems that just because 2d uses vodafone network 2d still has its own stuff on that network. I dont understand it .
Thanks for you template. I will just leave it now. 2d have lost a customer who is very disappointed in their service and their desire to fix a very frustrating problem. 2 months is a long time to wait for an issue to be fixed.

philnz847: When I use 2degrees any texts I receive from my fiancee in the Philippines arrives many, many times. This also happens if I use a Vodafone SIM card.

You mention in your very first post you have a Vodafone SIM card.

Was that incorrect? Or do you not have it anymore? Or?

That was incorrect. The other sim I have is a Filipino Worker Overseas card that uses Vodafone in NZ. (Vodafone shows on the phone screen). The repeats happen even with that sim. Telecom XT is the only network it does not happen on.

Thanks for your help.

Ok.  Well you must understand why everyone was getting very annoyed and confused.  You clearly stated you had a Vodafone SIM Card and you never (until your last post) explained that wasn't the case.  Thus all the confusion.

Good luck with getting it sorted.  If you're patient with 2Degrees support I'm sure they'll assist. You've already met one of their very capable techies here on this forum thread!

Yes....my error entirely. I thought that as the Vodafone network shows as the one being used the FWO sim was somehow also a Vodafone one.

Anyway, thanks for your help. You talk to me at a level I can understand.

Right, now that we're all clear that the number you use is a 2degrees number, please PM it to me and we will try to trace it. As mentioned above, I need your number (2degrees), the Philippines number, and the dates & times that the messages were sent to you.

However I am intrigued by this statement above. Are you saying that your fiance brings a Philippines number to NZ, and she gets repeats ON that number too when she's in NZ? Or are you saying that if she sends to you using that number in NZ that YOU receive repeats? Because if it's the former rather than the latter then I'm back what I originally said - i.e. the fault is neither Vodafone nor 2degrees but somewhere else in the international network.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

Sorry, but I think you're complicating again ;)

Isn't there a way to just eliminate (or confirm) 2degrees out of the equation? If you can tell for sure this is not a 2degrees problem by looking at your side of the logs (as in 2degrees is sending back the correct information), then we could consider this closed as in "the problem is on the other side".
