I have this frustrating problem since moving to Slingshot earlier this month.

I signed up for an 80gb plan which is what I had with Vodafone before moving.

With Vodafone I used about 30gb of data per month except occasionally it might get to 50gb. Not a high user. Part of the reason for my low usage is I am on a rural exchange with ADSL1.

Since moving to Slingshot my data usage was about 10gb for the first 10days (same as Vodafone) but 2 days ago Slingshot advised I had used all of my current month data plus all my rollover data. About 150gb in 1 day.

Given I am on ADSL1 with a download speed of 2mbps this is highly unlikely.

Multle calls with Slingshot and I am still no closer to getting a resolution on this. I've heard they changed some hardware that is now reporting incorrectly but this does not seem right.

Right now I have dial up speeds after only 10 days in my new month and no resolution in sight.

Does anyone else experience this problem or does anyone know how to fix? It is not physically possible for my internet connection to use 150gb in one day.

Please help.

There is a problem with the Data Usage accounting part of the system that caused a serious spike in the data usage reporting that subsequently triggered the throttling to Dial-Up speeds.

Slingshot is aware of this issue and their network team has been working on resolving this.  As of Saturday morning they could not tell me exactly when this will be fixed.  However I was assured that they will be working on this until it is fixed.

I was hit by this on Thursday night where my Data Block balance of almost 300GB was zeroed out within an hour.
