Hi ive been having issues with the abysmal net speeds in the area i live.weve had a chorus guy out (via slingshot complaint) and he says the lines in the area are terrible and need replacing, slingshot say they cant do anything about this because they dont own the lines but we pay for broardband through them and were not getting broardband.i dont know where to go from here as chorus contact say they dont deal with clients.how cn i get the lines upgraded in my area.https://www.speedtest.net/result/4735723953.png heres the speed test i did today.two people cant use the net at the same time and im at a loss of what to do next who do i contact to sort this?

- no phoneline
- Your ISP and plan : naked broardband unlimited
- Type of connection (ADSL, ADSL2, VDSL) :adsl
- Your modem DSL stats (do not worry about posting Speedtest, we need sync rate, attenuation and noise margin) ????
- Your general location (or street): xxx lower timaru rd tatarimaka
- If you are rural or urban :rural
- If you know your connection is to an exchange, cabinet or conklin : cabnet
- If your connection is to a ULL or wholesale service :????
- If you have done an isolation test as per the link above:????

Without seeing your line stats it's not possible to know your maximum speed, but based on your location your connection is working as designed and has absolutely nothing wrong with it, and there is nothing that can be fixed. You're on a ADSL1 BUBA connection which will be subject to congestion.

In a nutshell your connection is not broken, is working as designed, meets the Commerce Commission's regulated broadband product offering requirements. Like the other people in the same situation your solution is to move to wireless RBI which is intended to be the solution for most rural areas instead of upgrading copper infrastructure, or you can look at wireless providers such as Primo who may provide coverage in your area and will provide a vastly superior product. Your cabinet is due to be upgraded, but without knowing your distance from it (which sync stats will show) it's not possible to know if it will improve your speeds considerably.

You can read all about this very issue on the literally hundreds of other threads on here discussing this very issue, or in the blog post I wrote about the issue http://www.geekzone.co.nz/sbiddle/8780
