We have recently switched to Slingshot and have been experiencing internet performance issues. We live well past the max distance that ADSL is supposed to work, however it was been working for the last 9 years.  In the past when switching providers we have had to get them to change interleaving as we kept dropping out of the network.  Slingshot have said they have checked this and to be honest it's not dropouts this time.

The internet has been going really slow to the point where pinging Slingshot takes 188ms and the download speed test reached a whole 0.6mb...on  a good day this is around 3mb (used to be around 7 a year or two back cry ).

I have noticed that we are getting a lot of rx CRC errs but no tx CRC errs - since rebooting an hour ago we have had 5463 RX CRC errs.

We have spoken to slingshot on numerous occasions and they have said that they have tested and there are no errors.

The router is connected to a dedicated jack - I had this done so we did not need to use filters and the alarm could work when we built the house 4 years ago.

I have put another router on the network and replaced the cable between the wall socket and router.  It gets exactly the same issues.

If we could have switched to a better network we would have but we are in a dead spot when it comes to service options.

We managed to work out the cause of the problem.  It was the Windows 10 Anniversary update coming down to our laptops.  We had setup Windows 10 to send updates to PCs on my local network thinking that it would download once and then distribute to other computers on the network.  It turns out we were totally bogged down and we have had to turn off this option.  It is a shame as given we are on a very slow link this option had it worked would be ideal for us.
