Hey all,

So we have been with orcon for a month now. We switched from slingshot and we are having trouble changing our IP address.

We are trying to obtain a new IP address because we have our website on a virtual private network server with hostgator. At the time we switched over to orcon we were accessing the server from our slingshot ip address, when the switch happend and we got connected to orcon our ip address changed to a new one, and the server flagged it and blocked it. Contacted hostgator about this and they stated all we needed to do was change the IP address.

Short story

- We have a dynamic ip address (confirmed from orcon)

- We are on unlimited VDSL plan with phone line and we have the VDSL modem from orcon

- We have tried alot of things to reset the ip address (leaving the modem off for 2 days , resetting the modem, turning the modem off and on, using the ipconfig /release /renew /dnsflush , orcon did some things from there end as well)

- We had a static ip address with previous isp which was cancelled prior to switching. We were reverted back to a dynamic IP address where We could just turn our modem on and off to change the ip address

We received a phone call today from orcon stating theres nothing they can do about the fault, so i thought before i resort to thinking of switching to another ISP (because i probably will need to) if anyone on here has any advice or tips to help us. Thanks in advance

Surely it's hostgator that needs to whitelist not you changing IP
