Have a question that is more likely aimed at any Orcon staff members that hang out in these parts.

I see today that a new firmware for the Fritz Box 7490 was released taking it up to version 6.80 while the version on the Orcon supplied modem (Dunedin gigatown) is still at 6.20. As the option of been able to update the firmware ourselves isn't available (update option not showing on menus), I am wondering if Orcon have any plans to push out a newer version at some point.

Have my fingers crossed.

The catch is that it seems Orcon has removed the ability for end users to be able to update the firmware themselves on their supplied modems. FritzBox web site shows a couple of ways of updating the firmware. One is via an automatic interface on the modem web interface. That option is not there.

The second is to download the firmware image and update via the Wizard page but again, the Update button/option is missing.
