Has anyone tested PPPOE passthrough with the FritzBox 7490?

Will expand I need to connect a router to fibre but it does not (yet) support VLAN tagging. I wondered if using PPPOE passthrough would allow this router to connect to the fibre network via the Fritzbox.

I can expand this in private via PM if @2degreescare want to help me test this before going public.

Hey Nick and team at 2D - you’ve never let me down in the past and you’ve once again set to finding a solution for a well known yet non resolved problem with these great, but temperamental routers.

I applied the fix you suggested and it worked straight away. I went one step further and attempted the fix with doing the port forward before bringing the server back into the network. That worked as well and as soon as I plugged the server back in it was live.

A great solution and a great team at 2D

Thanks heaps!

Good to see you’ve sent a resolution on to the team at AVM
