Wanting to understand if 2degrees phone line now uses the ONT port. Looking at this, it appears so: https://www.2degrees.nz/help/broadband-help/modem-settings/byo-modem-help

However a lot of info on GZ says otherwise. Wonder if the switch to Orcon backend has changed this?

Based in TGA on Tuatahi network if that makes a difference.

Cheers for the help

The target 2degrees platform chooses the voice product based on the broadband product being provided (in this priority):

  1. Fibre Available -> ONT-ATA
  2. Copper Only Available & Chorus has Baseband IP cards installed -> Baseband IP (copper) voice
  3. Copper Only Available & Chorus has no Baseband IP cards installed -> RGW Voice

Hope that helps.

Chris
