This has been brought up before on the forums however it seems to be an ongoing problem. I have been getting very low speeds in the evening.

I have sent through ping and trace results to the relevant forum members. I would like to know if there are other Cantabrians out there experiencing the same?

I would say this has been unresolved for over a month now. Might be time for a change. In the past AYCE has been great, are there too many users now?

Might want to post some speedtests local and international so other Cantabrians can compare against.
(Recommended that all downloads and anything using the Internet is stopped before speedtests are run as they can cause false results)

AYCE is traffic shaped so at peak times you should expect it to be slower,

What % are you speaking of?

This has taken me awhile sorry. I understand the need for data shaping but I have been experiencing connection drops also. I mainly use the internet during the evening and this has been occurring 100% of the time for the past month or so.

Im on Slingshot AYCE DSL in Chch and have experienced a similar problem. Most notably for me was average peak speeds to everywhere else, but horrendously low speeds to the Snap Chch speedtest server.

I think its related to this, maybe they havent fixed it yet?

Yes we have a master splitter installed. I guess it's just a waiting game then until they sort it.

They already know about it.

Very long thread. 2002 views.
I believe Ben said they are fixing it now / soon.

I haven't been too impressed about it. Sharing 1 Mbit or less with the family.
Doesn't do gaming or video streaming any justice !

Has been an unfortunate bump in the road that was an outstanding service from Slingshot.

I have yet to ask for an update.

Canterbury here too.

But it has been going fairly fast over the weekend. Will do a speedtest when I am home.

Don't use wifi for testing.. use a wired connection.
