After having yet another call from those Indians trying to fix my computer the Number 1 Scam in New Zealand at the moment; I see the offending number is displayed in the call logs on the router.  What I was wondering could this functionality be extended to block calls coming from known Scam numbers in a future firmware release.

I Goggled the number the Indians used and it seems to be a known Skype out number it’s a big problem in Australian and New Zealand. This would be a great selling point for the Genius service also, plus save me getting annoyed with these calls.

I think this would be a brilliant idea as well.

At the moment if/when I get calls of this nature I report them at www.phonespamfilter.co.nz

But I am lucky in the fact that I have a Panasonic phone attached to my Genius system where I can actually block numbers on the handset :)

Hopefully Orcon will "open" up the Genius a bit more to offer more control over our phones, similar to other VoIP providers features... blacklisting would be a welcome feature to everyone I think - stops the in-laws from ringing... ;)
