I see Snap is offering the 7340 with the new UFB plans. Since the 7390 appears to offer more Ethernet ports it is a better fit with my needs. Any idea when/if this is coming in?
I actually think if they are only 100Mbit ports then 2 is enough anyway. I would rather get a device that's slightly cheaper so I can put the savings toward my own gigabit switch.
You can get a new 5 ~ 8 port gigabit switch for $50~$100 anyway. A 5 to 8 port 10/100 switch will be a lot less than that.

Yeah, me too. I got rid of my switches after changing to a 4-port router so don't relish the idea of having to go back to buying and using switches again. Especially since there is already a Fritz!Box with 4 ports (just not available anywhere in NZ it seems).

Where is your old 4 port router? Just use that and turn off dhcp another 4 ports spare done.
Any new device into the country has to be accredited or telepermited by Chorus / Telecom.
See the bottom of your current modem and it should have the greens sticker with the tick. From memory it costs some horrendous amount to get them telepermited.

About $15000 I believe but it would really just be a formality if the 7340 has it so if you want to import one from Australia it would work without issue as far as I can see.

In theory yes, But a word of warning just to be on the safe side!
Yeah but its about not blowing up the network which I dont think that would happen I think I would just use an old swich or 4 port modem because it wont be cheap.
