I have smart TV and would like to watch all the hd youtube during the day and do all the downloads etc between 1am and 7am. But was wondering what kind of speeds do you get in that window, is it prioritised/shaped/restricted etc for any reason?

No different from peak time speeds for me. Up to 1.8MB/s (my max line speed), depending on the protocol and number of connections.

Snap dont restrict or prioritise speeds at any time , in fact there fastest speed according to Truenet is Peak time and in the 5 years or so i have been with them my download speeds have been constant at any time of the day.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Thanks for your reply.

Would you consider yourself to be* a heavy user? Do a lot of downloads(not streaming)? For argument sake over 500gb a month could be considered heavy user in my books. Just asking because my current ISP (slingshot) made it clear that they will restrict my speeds if I download quite a bit.

Flip NZ has confirmed they do not shape the traffic which is great and they are reasonably priced. So is telecom with their 500gb plan. Thought might as well put Snap into the list for my new ISP hunt..

Hey,

We don't prioritise/shaped/restrict any traffic Smile
We have plenty of available bandwidth during the day, and even more at night! So I would expect you to see no change in speeds.
