Cheers Batwing.
That's right - we are having a sale tomorrow for new sign ups.
$12 a month off the $75 for 30GB plan (for 12 months), or $12 off the unlimited plan.
Makes for a pretty good deal...
Tell your friends and family to call 0800 131415 and mention 'twelve' to get the deal.
(They will love you for it :))
Cheers,

Nothing else in the email sent out to us from marketing. Mentions specifically only the $75 and $99 plans.

Keen on taking the unlimited plan on this deal, but I do alot of overseas VoIP between 6PM and 10PM, and I am still not sure if the unlimited plan is not going to cause me grief with throttling. Read a few threads here on Orcon unlimited performance and dont feel any wiser either :-(

Would have gone for the 60GB if it was on sale.

Anybody had enough experience with Orcon unlimited to make a recommendation?

So this is just for new customers only, not for existing customers on older plans who might want to change over?

Pretty good timing for orcon with telecom having a couple of outages. They might pick up a few more customers than they were expecting.

Hi guys,
Yes, new customers only. We'll be doing something for all customers soon (hint: free calling weekend to ten countries :))
As for unlimited reviews, I won't offer my biased opinion, but suggest you have a bit of a look on the various forums - certainly seems well received from where i am sitting, and we have several thousand people using it.
Cheers again, Quentin

Why not offer current customers the choice to resign for another 12 months and get the deal.... (Which I am pretty sure other ISPs do when they have signup specials)

I don't really understand these offers without that option.. sure they bring in customers. but they alienate long term customers

So I am existing Orcon customer, but have no term on my agreement. Call centre says I cannot change to one of the new plans, so I said that is fine, can you please cancel my plan today and I will call back in a few hours and join again in my wife's name. It amazes me they say no I cannot do that, but I dont see why not. Question is, can I be bothered trying.
