Anyone else had a problem sending e-mails to a Hotmail address ? I have tried a few in the past week and get the same error message which points to a problem with Slingshot:The following message to <@hotmail.com> was undeliverable. (I've removed the username)

The reason for the problem:

5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-"SC-001 (BAY0-MC4-F15) Unfortunately, messages from 202.180.66.194 weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list. You can also refer your provider to http://mail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx#errors."

Yes Callplus and Slingshot got blacklisted, a bunch of their mailservers are an issue. It's been raised and escalated.

I got this as a response to a request for an update.

Our management and network team are aware of this issue and are working with Microsoft towards resolution as it is affecting all of our customers.

Due to the nature of the issue, unfortunately we cannot offer an ETA on when this might be resolved.

However, we will endeavour to have the problem resolved as soon as possible.

Hi

We are currently aware that some providers have blocked us from sending emails to
their customers. We are working with these companies to unblock our addresses ASAP, Unfortunately we
have no ETR for the resolution at this point.

We apologize for the inconvenience

Thanks
Lewis

Well cant you at least put a posting on your network status site?
And put a note up when the problem is resolved????

http://callplus.co.nz/NetworkStatus.aspx

I really hate those pages that just say 'No issues" when there plainly is.
Like many people I do actually check those pages before annoying your techo's.

Its ok - You have admitted the problem - Now just let them know any updates...

+1, really annoying when companies don't update their status page. Why bother having one at all.

+1, I checked the "Status" page before calling the help desk only to be told it's not a Slingshot problem, it's the Microsoft servers, even though I quoted them the error number and message. At least I can still send snail mail..... well 3 times a week

Thanks guys for all of your comments. I thought it would be easier and quicker to come here rather than ring Slingshot.

Now if anyone from Slingshot is reading this how about an e-mail to your clients before we get this far to advise there may be an issue ? You must have known long before me ?

Don't know if I'm just unlucky but my internet access has been cutting in and out tonight, haven't had this problem for years. Network status shows no errors. Anyone else having issues ?

I have got a family friend who is supposed to call me tonight to try and fix their Slingshot email. They were on the phone with slingshot support for 90 minutes last night and didn't get it resolved.

It will be a totally different issue that is not related to this one at all.

Try another modem/jack-point and remove the filter and phone from the loop. Monitor for 24 hours, then call Slingshot to see how many times the modem has dropped since you started isolating everything. Pain in the rear end, I know. But Slingshot will ask you to do it anyway. :)
