is there any chance 2degrees is gaining support for wideband soon?

This seems to be a bit of an extension to the Wideband discussion in the Vodafone Forums....

given there would be limited handsets and anything going 'off-net' would be transcoded to G.711 for interconnect i don't think 2degrees would have much of a driver until IP interconnects are established between the 3 mobile networks. All 3 have already invested in TDM tech they don't really have a driver to put these in place either.

Would you pay more for HD-Voice?

there's a reasonable number of times people call between the same mobile network and the same mobile network.  and there are enough phones around now that do support amr-wb that there's at least some chance of getting amr-wb connections time to time.

that said, i wouldn't necessarily pay more for hd-voice directly, but it could influence my choice of provider, which coudl mean a change in how much i pay.
