Asked to get a VDSL checked by calling snap this week, test took a few hours, but I called back and the guy didn't seem to have the results of the test, because I wasn't given a job number to quote. No big deal. But thinking about it, I'm not sure the guy was quoting the first test which was in-determinant, or the second which was a more in depth test, from the cabinet to the demarcation point?

The telecom site, VDSL check says I can get it, but the snap one isn't so sure, so I'm wondering whats going on. Should I call snap back and get clarification for which ever test was run (the first gentleman said it can take up to 24 hours) was quoted to me?

The internal wiring is over 20 years old, I remember the Telecom man in the a van coming up when I was a child, we even got a new phone! The one with the bells got replaced :P

I would hate to leave to Telecom just to get VDSL because I love snap!

i would think if you can get VDSL with Telecom then it should be fine with Snap. if i do the Snap test it comes back indeterminate which it has since they have had the test but i can get VDSL through Snap so i would wait or ring them again.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

They both use the same data - which is the Chorus netmap database. Presumably both tests aren't being done against the same ASID or SAM ID which would explain the variance in the results.

No idea what you just said, but I'll politely nod, smile and pretend I did :)
