I'm just testing VOIP on my Fritzbox and made my first test call to an iphone on Telecom. The person I called said there was a distracting ticking sound whenever I was speaking, any idea what's wrong? I repeated the call on my old SPA3102 thats plugged into the POTS port on the Fritzbox and the quality was fine.

So the second call was made on an SPA3102 plugged into the POTS port... but what was the first call made from?

It was made from the fritzbox and a plugged in phone. The spa was plugged into the analogue line port on the FB. I just changed the dialling rules to change how the call was routed.
If the quality is good and I can get it a to work I'll retire the spa and use the FB for all calls

Huh? So are you using the fritz's fxs port to feed in to the fxo on the SPA and then what? You would need another analogue ohone plugged in to the fxs on the SPA as well as a proxy to handle the call. I think you have confused us with your writings.

I think the SPA is plugged on with ethernet to the Fritz. As for the clicking... no idea. Maybe an impendance issue?

I had a problem with my spa and clicking. it was due to the close proximity of the ac/dc transformer.
