Hi guys,

This question has likely been asked by someone but I can't find it, and besides, my brain is fried from trying to sort this issue out.

Does SS use a transparent proxy at all on their VDSL service? It has been suggested to me by Unotelly that may be the reason I cannot get on to the Showtime Anytime or HBO GO sites thru my Roku. Showtime throws up an error message ("Error 100: please try again") every time I try to log in and activate it and HBO GO gets stuck on the "retrieving code" screen. On both channels I have managed to get as far as the device activation screen after rebooting the modem and Roku, emptying the cache, and flushing DNS before it craps itself again.

While the Unotelly Level 2 support guys have been bloody fantastic (with a capital B), I think they have now run out of options after all the tests and packet captures, etc they have asked me to do.

I bought a new ASUS N66U modem last week and set up the Roku and I've been having this issue from Day 1. Tonight when I get home from work I will switch out the modem to the original SS VB104 and see what happens, just in case there is some sort of issue with the ASUS.

Has anyone else had this issue with these two channels on a Roku 3? I've asked this question on a couple of forums, including the Roku one...but do you think anyone would answer?!

It is driving me absolutely insane (and my insaneness is having a flow on effect to the family) - Showtime and HBO was the entire justification in my Roku Business Plan to the Head of the Household and She Who Controls All Things to be able to spend the money, buy a Roku, upgrade to VDSL, subscribe to Hulu and Netflix and pay for Unotelly...

Please help before I go absolutely nuts. I have promised Her that this will be sorted and we will be having a family movie night and catching up on favorite shows on Sunday night (a good proportion of which are on the two aforementioned channels...)

Thanks for listening to the ravings of a mad man.

Cheers.

On your slingshot account menu there is option there to disable internet caching. Disable that and should fix your issue. This is what ive done on my account as well. Using getflix as my smartdns.

Ps. Give it a try with getflix as well. They are fast based from my testing. Had unblockus and unotelly before and getflix is the winner.

Thanks for that! I'll give it a crack tonight.

I've still got the free trial of Getflix and Unblock-US at the moment and I was planning on testing them all out over the weekend.

Will let you know how it goes :)

Cheers.

I tried it but it made no difference at all. I've also tried Getflix but the service was slow for some reason. On Unblock-US I managed to get into HBO GO and activate my device a couple of days ago, but when I tried to watch it last night it went to the "activate device" screen and got stuck on the "retrieving code" screen AGAIN. Frustrating as hell.

I have Global Mode turned on at the moment. I'm going to turn it off and see if it makes any difference. Perhaps there could be a conflict of some sort, but I doubt it. I'm starting to get pretty bloody desperate now...

Will report back.

I assume you're aware of the geo-blocking issues at present with Hulu in particular breaking 3rd party DNS and VPN services to stop foreign viewers?

Yes I am :)

No issues with Hulu - that works perfectly at the moment. It's just HBO GO which works intermittently and Showtime Anytime which are causing problems.

You do but I have family in the US who have subscribed to the channel, so I login under their access :)
