Hi there,

I've recently begun having problems with my HTC One in respect of the quality of the network connection while roaming.

I live in a rural area which means that I rely on my phone for internet access. The reception isn't great normally but is certainly usable in terms of internet, txting and calls. I do need to have roaming turned on in order to connect to the internet.

I updated the software on my HTC One last weekend - to android 4.4.2 or the most recent version of HTC Sense, or both. Since I returned home and have tried to use my phone, the network reception has been appalling. Txts often don't send or take an age to do so, mobile internet (when it connects) is so slow as to be unusable, and when a call does eventually connect (on the occasions when I have sufficient reception to make a call) often it will suddenly disconnect for no apparent reason.

My phone works fine in every respect when I'm at work in town during the day.

I've checked for network issues in my area but there don't seem to be any.

The only variable that I can think of is the update to my phone's software.

Any bright ideas?

Cheers,

Mick
