I am currently tearing out my hair trying to port forward RDP connections through this shiny new Orcon UFB router (NF4V).

I have set forwarding under NAT -> Virtual Servers, port 3389 internal & external, to go to the internal IP of the server, which is accepting connections internally. However, even though externally I get the correct IP for the domain, I don't get an RDP connection, and I am going seriously insane.

I see that I'm not the only one, there are a couple of other people that have had the same thing, and I was wondering if anyone has managed to solve it yet? Orcon support is zero help, it seems as long as you can check your Instagram they're convinced there's no issue, but everything is configured as it was with the black ADSL modem and that worked perfectly.

One thing I'm wondering is if something on the other router (where the fibre terminates) needs to be configured? Can I log into that one somehow?

Any help or things to try would be hugely appreciated!

There is no "other router" where the fibre terminates. Presumably you're meaning the ONT? This is merely a layer 2 bridge, so won't be the cause.

The most obvious cause is still an error in your setup or you're using the wrong IP address.

Ah, so that's the proper name, cheers haha.
That's sorta why I'm losing my mind over this, everything is as it should be, I get the right IP (using No-IP DUC), and internally everything works as it should, it's only coming from outside that's not working, and the only thing that's changed is the installation of fibre and the accompanying router.
And, to be fair, if I was the only one having this issue with the forwarding I wouldn't be as quick to think that something else is missing, but with at least three people in this forum alone with exactly the same issue.. Having said that, I'd be well stoked if it was something simple that we're all missing..!
For now I'll just have to go the Fisher-Price route (TeamViewer) but that only gets me access, there's still a whole lot of things (SSH, SFTP, HTTP et al) that just refuse to work because of this..
