If anyone can help me please reply :(

I have been on the phone with slingshot tech support for 45m and trying to set this modem up with fibre for the last three hours. I do not know how to do it, what settings to put where etc and desperately need help. I'm typing from my phone.

If you can help in telling me what to put where please do.. I would be eternally grateful!!

Matt

Sorry to hear that Matt. Please PM me some account details and I will ask someone to have a look and call you.
Cheers, and sorry about the hassle. Quentin

If you have your Slingshot username and password, try the following. I believe these are correct, but I'm doing this off the top of my head so it *may* not be 100% what's displayed. I also don't work for Slingshot, however I have set a few of these connections up before.

  • Plug the cable from your ONT into the WAN port on your N4FV
  • Under Advanced Setup, click WAN interface
  • Delete any existing WAN interface
  • Add a new WAN interface using WAN / GE1 interface (I'm not sure of the exact name)
  • On the next page, select PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)
  • Under 802.11p Priority, empty the box
  • Under 802.11Q VLAN ID, enter 10
  • On the next page, enter your PPP username and password you've received from Slingshot
  • Click next if any additional pages are presented
This should be it - Let me know if you have any questions I may be able to assist with.

Thank you cam. Much appreciated. This worked. If only the person I spoke to today could tell me those simple settings I would be in a much better place.

You are awesome.
