I have a voicemail message on my 2degrees account and I would like to be able to save it as an mp3 file. Is this possible other than by using a microphone to record the message as it is played on my phone?

I use ACR which pretty much record every conversation I had on my phone which also includes recording calls to voicemail

What is ACR? (I tried google and wikiP but neither showed anything that did that.

Possibly an Android app: "Call Recorder - ACR" developed by NLL
