Morning All,

I purchase a new TPlink Archer D7 AC1750 router as the flats Orcon Genius router is constantly disconnecting an having problems, but I've ran into a problem. When I remove the Genius router and setup the TPlink, no matter what the TPlink can't get ADSL authentication.

I know that the Genius automatically connects and doesn't need a password, only the username and i've called support and have the correct password etc being used but my question is, am I doing something wrong or do Orcons Genius plans lock you into their Genius modem?

All the other settings on the Tplink router were correct and I've never had problems connecting to an ISP before this, hence the question.

FYI, with Genius the ADSL password is not your account password, see the link above. Also you are not locked to the genius modem.
Make sure you have set it to VCMUX encapsulation, VPI : 0 / VCI : 100.

Thanks WrEK, I did see that on my search but we have the black Genius router which defaults to 10.1.1.1 and seems to have none of the options listed in that post. I'm going through each tab now to see if I can enable telnet or not.

The account password bit is obviously where i'm getting stuck, will need to extract the SIP some how.

I've sent through a reply, also tried the auth password from the 2nd link without any success.

I can confirm this defiantly works.
I had issues with my orcon black router's WiFi
and am now happy running a Netgear with a Linksys pap2t for the phone :)

All sorted, took a while to connect with the PPP but ended up working after a few restarts
