Title says it all, patchy website loading etc, general instability. Inbound and outbound Genius voice can be affected.

Team is working on it but it is both Dynamic and Distributed so mitigation is a challenge.

Tried using ns1.spark.co.nz instead, got: REFUSED

Fair enough, I suppose.

Engineers have blocked the attack and DNS resolver service is restored.

Customers with affected Genius service may have to reboot their routers to restore service.

Spark and some other's some years back, moved to refuse anything not under their own AS from having established sessions via DNS.

Usually something like Google, OpenDNS etc. you test with - so to work around to verify your equipment (CPE), ISP, just a specific site or something like MTU and SSL sites not loading.

Would this be the reason why all my old emails are downloading again in outlook? All 2194 of them :(
