First time poster here, I'm looking to configure a Fortigate 40c to use as a modem for my new 100/30 service from Orcon. I understand I'll need to change the WAN interface to be on vlan 10 but I don't quite understand if there is MAC filtering on this service. Any advice would be great!

There is no mac filtering, just change the vlan to 10 and you are ready to go.

A couple of things:

1). If you plan on using UTM on the firewall policies (esp AntiVirus) then you will be limiting your 100Mbit connection. The specs say 20-40 Mbps AntiVirus thruput depending on how you config - so your device is a little underpowered for use as a 'proper firewall'.

2). I was running a Fortigate 80C and had issues with it dropping the connection after a while (e.g. a week or so). Orcon would not assist in getting this working as i was using my own gear.. so ended up going back to the Genius White modem. See here for the thread.

Cheers!
