Also if you mean snap contract it shouldn't matter anyway. You can change plans within contract.

Definitely keen for this as well! I'm hoping for some industry revolution with this! But maybe I'm being overly optimistic? :)

yeah, agree.

Having said that if the new plans are not competitive I may not stay with snap. Cannot see it as the performance is generally very good.

Also keen. With UFB on the horizon for our street I suspect I may be jumping ship to Bigpipe if nothing new comes out in the next couple of months - I'm happy to pay a bit extra for snap but currently their UFB plans (especially unlimited for 100+ Mbps plans) just seem to be too much.

Hmm, yeah, but what is the service quality going to be like? I don't see any mention of 'no throttling' on their site, which is likely to mean that they do.

Traffic management
We have a traffic management policy which allows us to prioritize time-sensitive traffic (e.g. VOIP and gaming) over non time-sensitive traffic (e.g. peer to peer) at busy times. See our no data cap FAQ for more details. We have not currently implemented this but may choose to do so in the future.

Couldn't find the 'no data cap' faq unfortunately.

I also don't understand their; 'We have better support because you can't ring us' line...??

Based on anecdotal evidence from folk around here, Bigpipe network performance seems good, and while they only have email support that too is apparently good. I'll certainly be considering it carefully when the time comes, but I think when I compared snap plans for 100/20+to other ISPs pretty much all of them had better deals. Not to mention I already have 2talk all setup as I like it so going for an offering without a VOIP component makes more sense for me.

I'll wait and see when UFB actually goes live though, I'm really hoping snap have something by then :)

I'm keen to see their offerings too, currently happy with 2D but after the global roaming debarcle supporting Spark/Lightbox doesn't sit right with me so keen to support the merger (and hopefully save some money along the way ;) )

If by revolutionary you mean bundling with some bundle discount then yes.

If by revolutionary you mean significantly cheaper 3g/4g or ufb data then i doubt it.

Gone are the days of ISP's tacking value added services to fixed line connections --- people can get their own software to do whatever the telco offers but ten times better.

You need people a lot smarter than the average joe to dream up new services that people actually want.

Since they recently stopped the 10$ addon/promo where you can change the base plan to unlimited (in exchange for a 2 year contact) im probably going to find it difficult to stay on SNAP and refer other customers there on UFB in the future

take the 200/200 plans

Snap 200/200 Unlimited with VOIP Snap Plus Phone $179 (used to cost 150$ with 2 year contact under the 10$ upgrade)

Bigpipe 200/200 + VOIP 2talk 140$ per month

I would be fine to pay the 150$ per month, maybe even 160$ - but definitely not going to pay 179$

i rarely have issues with snap UFB speeds......no evening slowdowns like some ISP's who say online tv is causing slowdowns in the evenings.

What about bigpipe? Are their speeds good? Maybe I will consider as snap is looking a little bit pricey given competition has heated up a little.
