Currently trying to get my brother setup with a UFB connection. Called 2d and requested a UFB connection all was well until they called back the next day saying fibre wasn't available in the area.

The Chorus map clearly shows his whole street UFB ready so what's going on?

Chorus Maps are indicative only.

There can also be a delay between Chorus and ISPs. Spark is also showing that street as unavailable so maybe give it a week or two.

So its live? ISPs just don't have the updated info yet?

It could be live. Ask your ISP to run a manual check.

There's a time-delay between completion of works and third parties becoming aware. And oddly enough, the Chorus provided maps seem to be more on the ball than RSPs.

Hi Bjorn, the Chorus Fibre ordering systems ISP's use to order fibre is separate from the mapping system and can sometimes show conflicting information. While this is not common there are further checks we need to do with Chorus to confirm the availability of Fibre. Can you please message us your account details so we have this investigated further and we will update you on what we find.

Many thanks,

Jamison

That Chorus Map is actually the best source of data, it's better than the internal data ISPs have access to.

I ordered fibre for my business in a MDU in a town centre.

The whole town centre had UFB available for months but when I called several RSP's they all told me no they can't install fibre at the address.

I had to battle my way through several layers until I called Chorus directly themselves to tell Spark that fibre is indeed available at the location.

The truth is only Chorus knows exactly if its available or not.

Not all ISPs have a handover agreement with Chorus in all areas.

Sometimes even Chorus don't know and they must send someone on-site to check.

I was thinking it might have been an area that 2Deg doesnt serve. Does another ISP checker say you can get it?
