I've been having trouble getting a working connection on My Republic since around 10pm last night (I have a cron job / scheduled task set to reboot my home router at 10pm on Thursdays). It appears I can't get a DHCP lease from them.

Their Network Status page has a vague description: https://support-nz.myrepublic.net/hc/en-us/articles/208828026-Network-Status-Outage-Update-20-05-2016

I'm frustrated and can't get any details on when it'll be fixed, other than it's high priority. Does anyone know more? Is anyone else having the same problem.

If you have a working My Republic connection don't restart your WAN connection until this is solved.

Hi Pab and Samnz! We're sorry to hear that the outage is causing you frustration. Our engineers are committed to getting all impacted customers working ASAP. At the moment we are unable to provide an estimated time of resolution, but we will aim to keep customers updated via our Network Status page every 2 hours.

What we know is that the error that occurred during our routine maintenance activity has caused some of our customers to lose internet and voice connectivity. Our technicians are currently working on restoring it as we speak and we hope to have an update from them within the next 50 minutes.

We apologise to all our customers who have been impacted by this.

Thank you for the update. The 4pm network status update looks promising. I hope it is resolved soon - I needs me some Netfix and Call of Duty gaming release.

Curious, why the need to reboot your router so often?

It's a little underpowered for what I have it doing - i have an openvpn server running on the router with 3 clients connected at all times and 5 openvpn clients running on the router connected to various locations. All up it usually has 30 devices connected and I shift about 20-30tb over the Wan each month. The chipset temps run high - close to their upper bounds so I should look at cooling too. I should also offload a number of services to rPi or small Linux box.

The network issue impacting our customers ability to use data services will continue into the night.  Issues with Voice should be resolved as of 7:35 (assuming data connectivity is available).

We have identified the issue however have no time frame on restoration at present.  Our team of technicians are working hard with our vendors to implement the solution, and is dedicated to bringing affected customers back online as soon as possible.

If resolution is achieved during the night then services will automatically be back online. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused, and will update our network status at 10am.
