I'm unable to use Liquidsky on my Flip connection. Liquidsky is like a remote desktop gaming service, so it can be quite data intensive. I'm wondering if flip is blocking the sorts of network protocols it's using. Over on the liquidsky reddit thread there appears to be other flip users in the same boat. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the flip network or at a higher level. Apparently the use of a vpn solves it so maybe it's a Vocus issue? Anyway appreciate any help.

I imagine the issue is with CG-NAT - you don't have your own dedicated public IP, and if you call them and ask for one (I think there might be a fee?) that'll probably sort your connection.

Anything I say is the ramblings of an ill informed, opinionated so-and-so, and not representative of any of my past, present or future employers, and is also probably best disregarded.

Flip don't offer public IPs. Find another ISP.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

It will no doubt be the CG-NAT IP address you get.

Based on a few other comments on here I'm not sure if Flip actually offer a public IP address. If you are going to move ISP just check before you move that it's to one that offers a public IP as CG-NAT is now offered by a number of providers, and some charging a monthly fee and some a one off fee for a public IP.
