I have been having the odd issue and have had a couple of good offers from other ISP's. Do they have a retention team I could call and twist their arm to match other offers to keep my business ?
TIA.

If the offer is from MyRepublic then stay where you are!

Search their name on here and read the threads about slowness issues, getting dicked around with them, sleezy sales practices. Getting taken to task over misleading adverts that for some reason other ISPs are now copying. Just a real shady operation.
I have moved to voyager from 2degrees after they said they wanted to charge me for paying them. Happy so far, and the weird dns timeout issues have stopped since I have stopped using my own DNS server so I have not bothered to hassle them about that.
I will soon be getting them to give chorus a kick in the pants to see if they can do something about the terrible speeds I have now that the house has gone from 3 VDSL connections to only 1 since chorus previously blames having more than one as the cause of the painful speeds (hah) - will have more to report after I have done that but the next few weeks I wont be able to face dealing with a support desk.
Many false claims for a start in Ads on the radio,

3puttssuck: Ok, thanks. I'll stay away from them. The offer came from Bigpipe for fibre.
Go for it then. Also have a look at skinny as its the same network.
I was running a bigpipe vdsl connection for downloads etc on, only got rid of it as I have to slash expenses to only the essentials - no problems with it, always performed as well as crusty copper would do, no problems with mystery throttling or connections being closed like other people I know on other ISPs have happen. Proactivly emailing about planned outages - first residential ISP I have ever had that does that.
dejadeadnz:OP: do yourself a favour and take note of the disgusting behaviour that has been noted and analysed by myself and others in this thread. Then take your business to an ISP that understands consumer law.
Also don't go to MyRepublic for all the reasons already given.

The only reason you need to know is that they're not members of the TDR.

I personally switched from 2degrees to BigPipe - not having them try and force a Fritz!Box I'd never use down my throat was one of the better things. Furthermore, reporting a fault without them telling you to plug in the said Fritz!Box first is even better. Things may have changed but I like being with an ISP that understands I have a technical background and listens to me on the first email in the rare occasion a fault does indeed occur.
With Voyager at the parents place - they're a very good ISP too. Take your pick but don't go with MyRepublic :)

Pretty sure your name carries a bit of a special unicorn state with bigpipe too however!

Wow, that's an eye opener ! I have been with them since the Snap days without any real issues. The offer is about $25 cheaper and faster speed.
Before you make a decision (even if 2Degrees matches the offer), make sure you've looked at MikeB4's thread as well (linked to in my previous link) to see the kind of depths that 2Degrees will plumb to. Hint for service providers: in the internet age, it pays to show your customers a little bit of decency because, once your dirty laundry is aired, you'll never be able to cover it up again.

Yes, thanks I did read that, hence my "Wow, that's an eyeopener" comment.

Seems nobody at 2D is interested in my business. I sent a PM to a 2D person on GZ and an email to their Customer Service team over 10 days ago and no response from both. Time to cut the line. See ya 2D
