Question, using a 2degrees SIM, is it possible to force a 4g device (in this case a 4g R216 modem) to roam on the Vodafone network, where Vodafone has 4g coverage but 2degrees only have 3g?

This is in Kinloch (Taupo) where Vodafone have 4g, but 2degress do not.

My preference is to use a prepay 2degrees SIM in the 4g modem (that can access data sharing from a pay monthly account), and use 4g speed (via vodafone).
Instead of having to use a prepay vodafone SIM (e.g. pay and go), as vodafone doesn't have free data sharing from a paid account to a prepaid account.

Thanks

Edit: within the R216 modem management, I can set the "Preferred Network", either to Automatic, or to a list of connections (e.g. Vodafone, 2 degrees, Telecom).

So the modem part looks possible, the question is does 2degrees allow to force roaming on Vodafone 4g like this?

Pretty sure the 2degrees roaming to vodafone deal is deactivated in areas that 2degrees have service in.

@SaltyNZ will likely be the best to confirm this.

2degrees won't roam on Vodafone 4G, only 3G

Darn, that puts a stop to that idea then!

Will have to look at a vodafone SIM again then, as I kind of need 4g when I'm staying in Kinloch and need to work remotely.

Previous posters are correct: you cannot roam onto Vodafone LTE.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

Any plans to roll out 4g in Kinloch (Taupo)?

I would say yes but when I don't think he could answer. He does not work on radio planning
