I am having problems with the wifi signal in a 90qm house on UFB with 2 degrees Fritzbox 7390.
I have installed already an Netgear extender, which is set up in my lounge.
Do I get a better WiFi range with the Fritzbox 7490?
Thanks

I have the 7390 up quite high, mounted on a wall. It reaches every corner of the property, average residential. Old house though, so not much metal and no metal lined building paper.
Where's yours located?
If it helps, my 7490 is at the top of the linen cupboard, dead centre of our 100m2 house. It's 100x better than the old Vodafone box that was in the lounge at the northern end of the house.
We have 130m2 house, 7390 didn't quite cover our kitchen and outdoor area. With the 7940 covers the area with no issues.
As others have mentioned make sure mounted high, this made a big difference on a couple of installs I have sorted out with the 7930 fixing coverage issues.
I recently upgraded to the 7490 from 7390 as well, it's way more powerful in terms of wireless strength than the older model.

We have a 190m2 house and Fritzbox 7490. Router is upstairs in Office cupboard. No hassles anywhere in our house (upstairs or downstairs) on 5GHz.
2.4HGz covers our entire yard, 1900m2. 5GHz covers close proximity to the house only. I'm really impressed with this router. Make sure your Maximum transmitter power is set to 100%.
Upgrade to the 7490 and remove the extender. I get no drop outs on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz in a 5 bedroom 2 storey house. Only problem I get from time to time is that DHCP doesn't renew the IPs on the wireless network for my laptops (Windows 7 & 8.1). Phones are fine.
