Hi. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience changing plans on 2 Degrees Broadband? I have just moved to 2 Degrees from Vodafone and was on unlimited with Vodafone. I didn't know how much data I used in a month so decided to sign up to 80GB knowing that I could upgrade to Unlimited if needed. Within just over a week I had used 75% of the 80GB so I went online to change my plan. The process of changing was very unintuitive as you have to go through the whole process as if you are a new customer (i.e. pay upfront for modem, carry over landline number, buy fritzfon etc.). So I went through, and finalised the steps and received an email saying I will get a text when it has been done. A couple of days pass and I have still not received a text and when checking my account online there is no longer "(pending)" next to the change my plan button. By now I had used 70GB of the 80GB allowance. I have gone through the process again and received the email saying I will get a text when it is done. Checking today, there is still "(pending)" on the change my plan button but I am still on the 80GB plan and I am now 10GB over the 80GB limit.

I just want to know the standard timeframe for these changes to happen as other Telco's I have been with changed the plan immediately. I could ring them (2Degrees) but I would rather do things online as I dislike talking to people as I get nervous.

Hi there Kiw33d,

Change plans on 2degrees broadband accounts take place at the start of your next billing cycle. With our 80GB plans, once you go over the 80GB cap, overage data is charged at $2/GB up to a maximum spend of $30 (15GB), then the connection is treated as unlimited, so you don't need to worry about being rate limited or anything like that while you wait for your next billing cycle.

The Change Plan Pending from the first request would have disappeared as the request had been actioned from our side already, ready for your next billing period.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Ralph,

That does clear things up. I have since seen that the charges have been added to next months bill. It's a pity that the plan cannot be applied immediately.

Another quick question. I can't find on "My 2Degrees" when my next payment is due by.
