Hi

I'm receiving some online trading calls every night asking to buy stock

I've told them I'm not interested and I've been using a call block app on my phone for the last two months.

It's a number from +44 and they keep changing their numbers and so far I've blocked around 8 ranges of numbers which they always use.

I've called 2degrees to see if they can do anything and they've advised to note down the date and time . They also said that if I receive 3 calls then I can call them up and they will investigate .

But two weeks back when I did call they said they can't do anything because its an overseas number.

Is there anything I can do other than to change my number?

Thanks

What are they marketing and who for? A NZ company? If so contact the NZ company and complain.

+44 is from the U.K. most likely illegal for them to sell in N.Z. as they'd need to be an A.F.A. (Authorised financial advisor). Do they realise they are calling N.Z.?

Yes they'll keep hounding you if you signed up to a "ScamBroker" website. They're trying to get more money out of you.

Don't engage conversation, hang up and ignore them.

Bad language ahead but you reminded me of this excellent video:

That won't work since they've heard my voice mail message. I certainly don't sound 12 :)

You can screen out, or even block out these calls using the 2degrees customer portal, just login and click on the phone number then login to the call manager - you can pretty much make up your own rules including time of day.

Found this in my recommended section on Youtube a few months back, and I ended up watching the whole thing. It's a documentary made by a victim of this scam.

It doesn't matter. They're lying to you, you're lying to them. Just keep telling them you're 12. They know you're lying. So what?

I've logged into the 2degrees portal but I don't see call manager?

This is why telcos need to just let you block all overseas calls.
