Does anybody know if 2Degrees have any upcoming changes to their data plans?

I feel a strange loyalty to them and don't want to switch, but the plans they have do not provide the kind of data I need for the best value.

If they dropped the cost of add-ons and made them carry-over I would be so happy, but I'm not interested in forking out $20 for an extra gig that I may or may not get to use before it times out.

I take it you are asking about mobile data and not fixed line?

Edit: Speaking about future plans or changes that is not public information I am sure is against the geekzone FUG

How many gigs do you need?

For my mobile prolly between 2 and 3 gig.  Preferably with carry-over data.

I would get into streaming music while at work if there were decent data options, so I could see myself using more.

$40 plan gives you 2.5GB/month.

Or you could spend $99 on 12GB. It's a chunk of change but lasts 6 months and it is equivalent of $8.25/GB.

Are you on a plan or pre-pay?

On the $20 prepaid right now. The skinny $46 plan with 3.5 gb/ month sounded better.

Have a look into Skinny Direct. $30/mo for 3gb data, unlimited calling and texting.

Best value imo and on Sparks network.

If you just want data, Warehouse is doing $30 for 4GB carryover. They're on the 2d network as well.

Hi LesF

How about the $49.95 plan with 4.5GB of Carryover Data and unlimited calls and texts to NZ and Aussie mobiles and landlines? You'll get $10 off your monthly 2degrees Broadband rental (now with 6 months free) plus you can add a phone on a 24 month interest MRO plan.

You can share your data with up to 5 other 2degrees devices and add an extra 3 connections at $25 each to share your unlimited calls and texts. :)

More info on Pay Monthly plans here

Cheers

Yeah I'm looking at the 49.95 or maybe the 39.95 monthly options.

There are seemingly better deals with skinny but I have to say 2Degrees has done the one most important thing so far; not piss me off.

Well so much for that.  Tried to change to a monthly plan on the web site and it was a complete shambles.

Apart from requiring far to much personal information, the form fails to save my address, and then refuses to complete the order with the message "The first name that you entered was incorrect. Please try again."

Pretty sure I know what my first name is, but I can't complete the order because their web form knows better.

That ruined the smooth trouble-free 2Degrees experience.
