Current Issues

There are no current issues on the Orcon network.

Is there something wrong with the page?

I have unlocked that thread for the benefit of ederyone else. There's an explanation there why it was locked - thanks to Mr SalmonSalami here...

Try gaming with Orcon currently and you'll find something is not right! I have been with Orcon for a long time and have had superb service consistent speeds and ping. Since they started introducing ADSL2 something has gone terribly wrong with Orcons International bandwidth speed while gaming. I run two Gaming Servers out of Chicago with VOIP Teamspeak2. I know what my normal ping and latency should be when all is well. My ping should be 200ms -210ms but since Orcon's problems I am at 250ms - 270ms. Either this problem is something Orcon have yet to fix or they are throttling my bandwidth with Traffic Management which is something that is not in my Orcon contract on the MAX/MAX plan. When I do a speedtest (www.speedtest.net) you will notice it stop and start and not burst and flow consistently like it used to. I also noticed it thinks I'm situated in Christchurch? I'm in Hamilton! Has Orcon re-routed us through Christchurch Servers? This is also something new that Orcon have not explained to me? I never used to show this little green human figure in Christchurch.... it has changed recently...WHY?

You may have been incorrectly identified as being in Christchurch. I have been identified as being in Wellington a few times - after a while, it jumps back to Auckland.

If you used paragraphs, and only use bold text to highlight points, your posts would be a lot more readable. (In fact I would actually read it then).

Ok there is just one thing Orcon still need to patch up, as other people have mentioned, when I download a file the speed will pick up then slow down and pick up again:

Once this is fixed and I get 600KB/s then ill be a happy Laughing

I have just got kicked from my Gaming Server for high ping spikes!!! 9:00pm Sunday Night ! The game was laggy, my connection was very unstable...so its proof to me Orcon has not solved their problem with extra bandwidth !!!Yell I understand this is not isolated to Orcon..other ISP's have also been experiencing difficulties over the past 2 months. Is this a New Zealand Broadband problem with certain ISP's or are all ISP's having the same trouble? Orcon System Status Page...LOL
