Hi

I joined with ORCON on their naked ADSL2+ service a couple of months ago when it 1st came out. Since that time & get a great connection for about 3 or 4 days per week & the rest of the time I just can't connect at all. To make it worse it is almost always down over the weekend. The tech support always offer to reset my port or reboot the card at the exchange. This generally helps for a few days  before I loose my connection again. I then need to go through to process of getting a support ticket issued & then getting it upgraded from urgent & overdue before my connection comes back.

The tech support at ORCON never seem to have much idea what is going on. They just keep suggesting a modem reboot will fix the situation.

ORCON claim they have checked all the 'lines' and there is no issue there. I've tried 3 differnet modems & have had the same issue with all of them. The only other thing I can think to try is to change my ISP. I'd rather not do that because the ADSL2+ works great when it can connect.

Anyone have any ideas as to what might be wrong or have similar experiances.

BTW I am in the Mt Albert exchange

Just my 2c.

With any phone in the house try pressing the speaker phone button about two/three times.   AS SILLLY as it sounds, it actually reconnects me when we have our usual 20 disconnections per day. Albeit we are not on ADSL2!

Used to ring up many times to the help desk, and their answers were pretty much the same, reboot, reboot,reboot etc etc etc!@

okay that sounds interesting. Unfortunately I don't think that trick will work in my situation as I've got teh naked ADSL so there is no Telecom POTS line. It is great not having the Telecom line, but makes living with a unreliable Internet worse as we loose out VOIP line each time it goes down.
