Is anyone else using the Ubiquiti USG with Gigabit fibre on 2degrees? what connection speeds are you seeing?

Just switched over to a USG and I'm only seeing 100/100 speeds. I'm using the same cabling as I was using on my Fritz box which was giving me the expected speeds.

DPI and QOS is off, hardware offload is on.

Trying to understand if this is a physical limitation of the USG or if something is wrong in my configuration.

Even though I am not with 2degrees, I'm using a USG on a Gigabit connection and am receiving 700/420.

That sounds like a port is running at 100Mbit instead of Gigabit. Check your cables.

I've had the USG work at Gigabit speeds on multiple connections.

I did suspect the cables but these are CAT 6 cables that I had used for the Fritzbox. Also the USG shows both the WAN and LAN ports as running at gigabit.

I recall atleast back in the snap days If you didn't it still worked but your profile was set at a different rate.

Ok so I've sorted the problem, and this is the most embarrassing problem that I've had with a network.

All the cables from the USG to my core switch were fine but I have another switch in my home office and it sits under the desk. I must have kicked the cable at some point as it was loose and negotiating at 100/100 for the uplink.

So the PC was gigabit connected to the switch in the office but the uplink was going at 100/100.

Pushed the cable in and everything is fine now.

Just out of interest what is the top speed you have got with the USG? I’ve read it’s underpowered for gig speed.

I've literally had them run at Gigabit speeds no problems with PPPoE / VLAN 10.

850 or so down is what I usually get. they have some long standing issue where if you enable ipv6 some service runs that doesnt need to which constantly hammers the CPU on the thing, mine sits at 50% all the time. Seems to be not a priority for them to fix that.

USG might need to be done via command line, but EdgeRouter has it in the config tree,
