Hi Guys,
I ran some tests with Ping Plotter to find some answers to my latency and packet loss while online gaming. While I don't fully understand all this...looking at my results on the graphs it seems I get alot of packet loss PL% resulting in high pings and errors particularly HOP no. 7. Can you guys help me interpret my results...something isn't right with my MAX/MAX Orcon plan while gaming...terrible.

Hi BaZ

These traceroutes look quite normal actually. Hop 7 is the jump from NZ to USA, which goes over the southerncross cable. This generally introduces around 120-140ms of latency (Round trip time).

The packet loss you are seeing, are the routers not responding to the ICMP packets your traceroute program is sending out. THis is because if the router is busy it will drop ICMP packets that is being sent directly at the router,  so it can make sure it can process the more important traffic flowing though the router.

If there was real packet loss, the PL coloum would have values in all of the rows.
