xpd:From customer side of things, I doubt it. From the backend, maybe.
They will not do anything unless you go down the whole abusive phone call process and apparently calls that just hang up on you are not abusive enough for them to care about.
Telcos need to block this crap at their end but seem reluctant to put any filtering on the service that they built their business around.
dukester: I just get annoyed when legitimate businesses call using no caller ID, I ignore the call because of the scam calls that hide behind the same display, then I’m chasing my tail trying to return answer phone messages.
If its a legitimate business they will send you a text or an email. If its a scammer they will just move on to the next number and try them.
No caller ID, no ringtone and no callback. Caller ID on the index, hasta-la-vista-baby and auto-report to the regulatory authority, which simply blocks this number if complaints increase and also imposes fines in its jurisdiction. Life can be so simple.
- NET: FTTH & VDSL, OPNsense, 10G backbone, GWN APs
- SRV: 12 RU HA server cluster, 0.1 PB storage on premise
- IoT: thread, zigbee, tasmota, BidCoS, LoRa, WX suite, IR
- 3D: two 3D printers, 3D scanner, CNC router, laser cutter

Sorry, blocking and fines valid for my location (GER). Call harassment has gone down to about 1-2 calls per year in recent years.

Same. I will not answer any no caller ID number unless Im expecting a call from a govt deptartment.
dukester: Why does any legitimate business or government department need to hide behind no caller ID
Bung:dukester: Why does any legitimate business or government department need to hide behind no caller ID
One reason could be if they're working from home they probably don't want follow-up calls going to their home phone. If it's important they should leave a message assuming you've got voice mail.
They should be calling out thru a work provided system to allow for the call recording and auditing, not just calling on their own mobiles.
