Hi

Having a bit of an issue this morning.
My hyperfibre keeps disconnecting every so often for a minute or two
6 outages already this morning.

Anything going on in the network that might be causing this?
Checked and no outage reported on https://www.chorus.co.nz/outages in west Auckland

You need to provide more information here. What router are you using? How are you testing to determine there is an outage? What do the ONT lights show you? Any router logs? What basic troubleshooting have you done?

Looks like traffic is quite patchy as well
Ping to Cloudflare varies between <5 to 200ms
I'm on the Nokia hyperfibre running on 10G ethernet via UDM Pro

It definitely looks like a Chorus / Orcon / 2D network issue
The ONT (Nokia hyperfibre box) keeps reporting fibre line AUTH issue and then reboots
Sounds like a very similar outage that happened towards end of December 2022

Hi there, is the ONT actually rebooting? Can you please PM me the serial number of the ONT - It starts with ALCL - I'd like to take a look on the Chorus side.
Thanks!
Brent

I have been PM'ing dauckland and investigated on the Chorus side - Seems like an ONT problem.

To round out the solution in this thread, dauckland will need to log a case with the RSP to get a Chorus tech onsite and swap the ONT.
