From a 2Degree fibre landline:

Call the wife's work number : Get a "number NOT in service" message!

Call the wife's mobile (2D) : Get a "number NOT in service" message!

From my 2Degrees mobile NO problem calling the wife's mobile or work number!

Bizarre...2Degrees showing NO Problems on their web page!

Sounds like a carrier routing issue.

Was the fibre landline recently ported to 2Degrees?

No, long time 2D fibre landline.

More testing "me thinks" it is something to do with caller id blocking.

We have it suppressed...and prefix 0196 to unblock a certain few so that they no "it's us" calling.

If I ignore the 0196 prefix it works! (No ID shown)

Just stopped sometime today.

Didn't know I had to! (Or should even touch the ONT)

Is the phone all of a sudden adding random digits to the number dialed? I have seen this before

Nope! Tried different phone....including manually dialing.

If 0196 is used the "number not in service" message is given.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Ok so the issue is 100% not on your side looks like 2degrees may have made a change around those SD codes

If I drop the 0 it screams a repeating tone sequence at me!

If I drop the whole 0196 part, it works.

Linux: Log a ticket with 2degrees

Done last night. First CSR hung up the call, 2nd CSR sounded like she shouldn't be in a call centre (Coughing all the time etc).

Have a ticket number by txt and email.

I do like the new (To me!) method of emailing you a verification code instead of the old way.

OK, I have just rung 2Degrees and asked if their is any update to my Fault Ticket?

There wasn't.

So I asked the CSR if he knew the "new codes" to switch CLRID on & off?

Came back with the answer:

There are NO LONGER CODES!

You have to log in to the online portal and turn it on or off!

How ridiculous.

(Now to remember how to edit the phone numbers in my landline phones to remove the 0196 etc!)
