Does anyone know for sure if IPv6 can work on 2degrees Wireless Broadband for your home (4G/5G)?
My sister has it and we have been trying to talk to tech support and they think it should work, but cannot get it to work.

She has the standard modem they supplied, tall square box, its either dlink or tplink.

I know 2degrees phones don't get IPv6, but I'm getting conflicting info if the broadband for your home that goes over mobile should support it.

The answer I have already posted above the mobile network does not support IPv6 for any internet service delivered over it...end of story

Why should FWA support IPv6?

They could tunnel it over IPV4 if they wanted to, even if the network doesnt support it.

But ok, seems like they just don't know what they are doing.

Will just have to figure something else out.

Thanks

CGNAT.

IPV6 just makes it easy to setup things and share between servers when both people are behind CGNAT at both ends

She had one, but they called her up and told her she could save $30/month if she went to the wireless broadband option.

Which is what created the problem in the first place.

I'm aware if she switched back IPV6 would work fine. But she wants to keep the $30/m savings,  so I will have to figure out another option.

Yep,

Home servers running things like Home Assistant / media PC / NAS are pretty common these days.

Get her back on fibre screw the $30 saving FWA is not a replacement for someone that can connect to fibre

She should of looked at cheaper fibre plans.

It's not a huge problem, just something I have to deal with and get things working and backups running again.

Thanks for your help.

Now that I know it's definitely not supported I can explore other options.

No IPv6 on mobile connections - phone or WBB regardless.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.
