Someone made reference to this in another thread, but I thought it might be easier to keep track of this issue with a separate thread, and see if we can work out if there's a common factor.

We have five active 2Degrees sims in our family. Now that the Your 2Degrees site is back up, I took a look at the excellent itemised summary of usage.

Four of the five sims' usage and pricing is as expected, but one sim is being charged 44C for calls to landlines and other 2Degrees numbers, despite being topped up by $20. When you top up, calls to such numbers should be at 22C for the next 30 days.

I logged a fault, and 2Degrees say someone from their technical team will call back during the week.

Incidentally, it's good to know that when they say they'll call back, they do, at least in my experience to date. A bit of a sad commentary on our mobile phone industry that I'm surprised by this.

In my case, the other four sims were purchased, whereas this fifth sim with the charging discrepancy is one of the free chinwag sims. It was topped up on Friday 7 August in the evening.

It might pay for everyone to check their spend.

Yes, I had the same problem. I topped up $40 then made a phone call to a landline but was still charged at 44cents a minute

Is your sim a chinwag sim, or a purchased one?

I have been also over charged on landline call's. Was a chinwag card with a $40 top up loaded. I have emailed 2 degrees told them to look at it.

Thanks for spotting this - we'll investigate those issues. Can you private message us with the number of the SIM cards you are having issues with so we can track them down and get it fixed.

Cheers!

By way of update - this issue was resolved.
All effected 2degrees customers were given a credit and their 30 Magic Top-Up period was extended.
Thanks to those on Geekzone who pointed out the issue.

Cheers!

As the person who initiated this thread, I can confirm.

Rolling out a network and related systems is a complex business, and there'll be glitches. But it's heartening to see 2Degrees responding in this way, so thank you.

Ok so 2 Degrees "stuffed up" and overcharged. While not praising them for this error, I just want to say what a breath of fresh air it is to finally have a prepaid mobile company give us the ability to review our billing and charges.

With Vodafone, if you had *suspected* some billing error, you would have to risk paying $1 just to clarify it!!

Very welcome service 2 Degrees.

Vodafone attitude is somewhat different to 2degrees. 2degrees get's point's for a positive attitude to issues.  Like fixing them...

Yes quite agree with you Andrew. I put my lady's chinwag simcard in her other unused phone and it registered but then came up with a fault during registration and for me to contact CS. The $5.00 didnt load on. Anyway Lena the lady I spoke to said she would personally get it fixed and to try the phone later in the day which I did and it was all ready to go. So special thanks to Lena at 2degrees. But to get back OT it looks as though my lady wont have any problems with calls being overcharged after she tops it up.
