I thought Slingshot gave out Dynamic Ip addresses by default, but whenever I reset my modem I always end up with the same ip address. If slingshot doesnt give out Dynamic ip addresses by default does it cost extra to change to one?
thanks

Detruire: Their IP allocation, by default, is dynamic in the sense that it's not static.
However, it's not a "change on demand" system, so you can't quickly cheat IP-bans/limits.
To get a new IP you've got to leave your modem turned off for ~18 hours or longer.

Detruire: Why?
I can't think of a legit reason you'd need/want a new IP address quickly.

I only wanted to swap it once because In my Router security log its stating that heaps of things like
Smurf Attacks and SYN Floods have been taking place. I want to see if its false alarms or not. The easiest way I can think of is by changing my ip address and seeing if i still get the same attacks.
Mm..
In the belkin modem/router that i use, the security log show's heaps of SYN Floods etc aswell..
I don't worry about it tho
