Er, what's your question exactly? You think it should be free?

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

As per your duplicate thread.

Seems quite simple really. As per here, you get 10 free alerts sent to you, but if you want more it costs whatever your provider charges per request.

Hi.
The issue is that in the link above Westpac advise that it costs your providers normal yext charges to send a text to 202. I take this tomean that it will either be free (Magic Top up or 9c. 2 degrees however charge for texts to 202 as a premimum text at 30c

202 isn't yet on the Vodafone list of premium TXT codes so it's not possible to see what they charge.

A small issue has developed where the standard price of premium rate SMS messages has effectively become 20c and many companies advertise that you pay the "normal SMS rate" which was true before 2degrees came along.

Companies who are doing this really should be advertising the true cost of the service and not making a statement such as this.

The price for sending an SMS to a premium rate service is likely not to be 9c from 2degrees but probably should be 20c.

Actually a small typo in my first post. The premimum Text rate for calls to 2o2 that 2 degrees charge is 20c not 30c. Incidentally the only reason I hadn't queried this previously is I thought Westpac advertised the cost of sending a Text to them for their service was 20c and was a bit surprised to see the way it is currently worded in Westpac's website. I am not sure on this however

actually things get more interesting. I have had a look at my History in my 2 Degrees. It lloks like there may have been a change in 2 Degrees Systems. Prior to the 6 March Texts were not charged for. There were however 2 Entries for each text a few seconds apart. I can only conclude that this showed outgoing and incoming texts. After 6 March I started getting charged 20c but there is only one entry per text

it cost 20cent to text 202 using vodafone.

it is FREE for westpac to send you text (up to 10/month), but you still have to pay $20cent to request it on vodafone.
