We get a kick out of helping you do more of what you love online. That's why we're adding 1GB of data to your base plan. It's our way of saying thanks for being with Orcon; we really appreciate your business.

Your plan name will also change from Purple to Bronze.

What To Expect

Your extra data will start on the 23rd of May - and continue each month after that.
You don't need to do anything, we'll take care of it all for you!
Nothing will look different on this bill (coming 23 May) as your changes take affect on the new billing cycle (23 May - 22 June).
Nothing else will change.

wow a whole 1GB gee thanks orcon

Our work accounts get "free" upgrades occasionally.... one got 5gb a few months ago and one got 1GB yesterday.

But my personal account is lacking in any freebies :(

On Gold+ (which is a base of 10GB)

I'm assuming they are rolling out plan changes. Presumably, a Bronze plan is being introduced that costs the same as current Purple but with 2GB instead of 1GB. That would explain why Athlonite is getting "upgraded" from Purple to Bronze. Perhaps they're getting rid of Purple altogether, or it will be cheaper, so this is a smart way to keep people paying the same amount.

As for dman, he was on Purple+, and no mention of change to plan name so presumably that is being increased to 25GB. I wonder if any of the other plans will be changing? I'm on Silver+ so I'd quite like (and expect) an increase in base cap, otherwise I might look seriously at switching to Purple+ and VoIP.

HiK1000716, did you get a 1GB increase?

So, no change to Silver+ or Gold+?  That makes them pretty poor value compared to Purple+, looks like I'll be switching and looking for a VoIP provider.  Previously, you gave up the phone services of Silver+ for the extra 10GB of data in Purple+, i.e. the Phone part of Silver+ essentially cost $12 per month.  Reasonably good value.

Now the Phone part of Silver+ "costs" 20GB per month, no longer good value and worth exploring alternatives I'd say.  So, which are the most highly regarded VoIP providers out there?  Or maybe I'll ditch my phone line altogether and go fully mobile.
